Karen Ferry is an Australian advertising Executive Creative Director, writer and television personality who uses nuanced insight and a demented view of culture to create Not Quite Advertising.
Since starting as a copywriter in 2006, Karen has worked at Sydney’s best advertising agencies including Leo Burnett, DDB, The Monkeys and JWT on a wide range of iconic brands including Volkswagen, IKEA, McDonald’s, Tourism Australia, Diageo and Samsung.
Her work’s been awarded 200+ times by D&AD, Cannes, Clios, Effies, London International Awards and others. In 2018 she was a See It Be It delegate for the Cannes International Festival of Creativity. In 2019 and 2020 she was a National Head of AWARD School, Australia’s leading and most prestigious folio school.
In 2018, Karen joined Gruen as a panellist, and regularly appears on The Project, the Today Show, and ABC News, radio and podcasts as an advertising and cultural commentator, and presenter. An MC and keynote speaker, she has spoken at a number of conferences including SXSW and VIVID.
In her spare time she takes care of her hectic children (one flesh, one fur) and drives the world’s biggest maroon Camry.
